
Miguel is a PhD Candidate in the School of Information Systems. He previously completed a Master of Business Information Systems at The University of Queensland, where he gained interest in Data Analytics, more precisely in Learning Analytics. He has worked in the software development industry where he gained valuable experience in web development, data processing, and reporting and analytics. His programming skills range from back end with C# and MVC in ASP.NET core framework to front end with razor, blazor, jQuery, AJAX and JavaScript. Furthermore, he was a tutor in subjects such as Information Systems Analysis and Design and Data Analytics at The University of Queensland and he holds the Associate Fellow position at the Higher Education Academy. His research interests are data analytics, data visualisation, human-computer interaction and human cognition in the educational context (Learning Analytics). He completed a master thesis focused on developing a dashboard for researchers in learning technologies, which later became a conference paper.
