Kalpani Ishara Duwalage is a postdoctoral Research Fellow at QUT Centre for Data Science and Black Box Co. Her current project involves improving real-time predictive and prescriptive capabilities in the livestock supply chain. She completed her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Science, QUT, 2018-2021. The thesis title is statistical Modelling of public hospital emergency department presentations; this is a collaborative research project with four major public hospitals in South-East, Queensland, Australia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka in 2015 with a first-class honors degree in Statistics and operations research.
Her main research interests are in the fields of forecasting, statistical modelling, machine learning, big data, and applied research in real-world data.
