Guangnan (Rio) Zhu is currently a PhD candidate in School of Communication, supervised by Associate Professor Timothy Graham and Professor Daniel Angus. His research focuses on the development and application of computational methods and machine learning techniques in communication and digital media, especially in detecting and analysing online disinformation and misinformation. His PhD project focuses on the detection of coordinated inauthentic behaviour using multimodal data. He holds a BE degree with honors and Masters degree in advanced computing from ANU.
