Gaurangi is currently a PhD student at QUT in the School of Computer Science with more than 6 years of research experience in Data Science and Machine Learning. During her PhD, she has explored various data representation techniques for temporal data, including transfer learning from different domains like computer vision and unsupervised embedding learning based on novel algorithms. Other than large-scale benchmark datasets for temporal data, she has also explored spatio-temporal data such as trajectories and image sequences.

Prior to joining PhD, she was a part of the research wing of India’s leading IT firm, TCS Research from 2014 to 2017, where she worked on task-specific representation learning using several deep learning-based systems. It involved dealing with various time-series applications ranging from customer transaction history to sensor data analytics. She has developed novel algorithms for different machine learning tasks like classification, clustering, and anomaly detection.
