Dan Dai

PhD, School of Communication

Dan is currently pursuing her PhD at the intersection of data science and social media analytics. Her PhD project is dedicated to creating accessible tools and workflows for data collection and analysis, applying network analysis and natural language processing techniques on social media data. Beyond technical innovations, she is committed to offering insights into the ethical use of data, addressing biases, and promoting responsible data practices.

 

Her research interests continue to evolve around large language models, responsible and sustainable AI, and the dynamics of social media platforms, with a particular focus on the context of China. Dan’s academic journey is supported by a Master of IT degree from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language.
