Take a deep dive into deep learning with Dr Laith Alzubaidi!
About this event
“Deep learning for medical imaging applications” – a lecture as part of the QUT Centre for Data Science’s Data Science Under the Hood seminar series.
In this webinar you will hear:
- What is deep learning?
- The difference between Deep Learning and Machine learning? when to use Deep learning?
- Some concepts and algorithms? Mainly CNN.
- Two main challenges of deep learning and popular solutions?
This webinar is presented by Dr Laith Alzubaidi.
Laith Alzubaidi is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Mechanical, Medical, and Process Engineering, QUT.
He holds a PhD from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) (2022), Brisbane, Australia. He also holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri (2016), USA. His major is medical imaging analysis with deep learning. He has been awarded two scholarships: the first one was received during his master’s degree, and a second scholarship was awarded by the QUT for his PhD.
He has published more than 45 refereed research papers with over 1000 citations. He is collaborating with other researchers around the world including USA, UK, Spain, Australia, and Malaysia, leading to more than 25 joint research publications. He has so far reviewed more than 220 papers for more than 58 journals including PLOS Computational Biology, IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, Cancers, Neural Networks, Artificial Intelligence Review, etc. He has been leading two special issues for two high reputed journals.
