Sam is a PhD student at QUT researching effective ways to localise and map chemical and explosive hazards using mobile robotics and advanced sensors, supervised by Dr Thierry Peynot. Sam’s first foray into research was a Vacation Research Experience Scheme (VRES) project with QUT’s Biomechanics and Spine Research Group, simulating trabecular remodelling as a result of bone adaptation. Sam has degrees in Law, Information Technology, and most recently Engineering (Mechatronics), graduating from QUT with first class honours in early 2022.
