Maruf completed his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2012 and 2014, respectively. During his master’s degree, he started working in the software industry and has gained five years of industry experience before starting his Ph.D. with our centre in 2018.
He is interested in applying deep learning in robotic vision and was supervised by Dr. Feras Dayoub, Assoc. Prof. Niko Sünderhauf, and Centre Director Distinguished Prof. Peter Corke. His research topic was to identify the failure of a robotic vision system at run-time. This research is of paramount importance to improve the safety and reliability of vision-based robotic systems during the deployment phase. Maruf is proficient in multiple deep learning and machine learning frameworks and programming languages. Details can be found on his website — www.qmaruf.xyz.
