Julian received his B.S. degree in Mechatronics Engineering in 2016 and an MSc. in Engineering from the University of Antioquia in 2019. He is currently a PhD candidate in robotics and autonomous systems at The Queensland University of Technology.
His current research activities include UAV mission planning for planetary exploration in uncertain environments. Also, He is passionate and enthusiastic about the systems integration of environmental sensors, Space exploration and remote sensing with aerial platforms.
His passion for the electronics and systems integration formally began in 2007. This passion mixed with strong teamwork and research skills, merit him over 5 awarded competitions in robotics (from 2013-2015) and two prices in the Global Space Balloon Challenge in 2018, in which he participated as the deputy director and electronics and telecommunication systems integration leader.
