In this PhD, you can explore how robots can map non-rigid and changing natural environments.
In this PhD, you have the opportunity to invent new algorithms to create maps of natural environments (e.g. forest, agriculture, or underwater environment like coral reefs). These maps should not be static, but should support to model and predict how the ecosystems change over time.
You will be part of a world-class robotics team with researchers and engineers from CSIRO Robotics and the QUT Centre for Robotics who are pushing the state of the art in autonomous systems and artificial intelligence in natural environments. You will have the chance to work with CSIRO’s Wildcat SLAM and a range of robot platforms.
