QUT Centre for Robotics- Finalist in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) awards

On Thursday 16 February, QUT Centre for Robotics Joint-Director Prof Michael Milford attended the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) awards night in Sydney to represent the Centre as a finalist for the Excellence in Research and Development Award.

Prof Milford said, “It was great to represent the QUT Centre for Robotics and its extensive program of Autonomous Vehicle research at the Intelligent Transport Systems awards night in Sydney.

“The centre being a finalist for the Excellence in Research and Development Award is testament to the depth and breadth of both fundamental and applied research we conduct in autonomous vehicles, ranging from on-road to mining to defence and agriculture domains”.

The finalist citation read: The QUT Centre for Robotics is leading a range of local, federal and international projects developing new technologies for autonomous vehicles with multiple Fortune 500 companies, government and startups. This technology has a wide range of application areas spanning on-road autonomous vehicles to mine sites to farms to all-terrain transport.
