Jens Froese

Jens has joined the QASE lab in January 2017 to work on two Plant Biosecurity funded projects, developing spatial risk models for Buffel Grass on Barrow Island and wheat stripe rust in south-eastern Australia. He is particularly interested in combining the ecological drivers of invasions with novel fine-resolution data collected via satellite and unmanned aerial platforms to assess risk. He strives to do research with impact in the real world and help land managers and practitioners make better informed biosecurity decisions. Jens is a Geographer by training and has previously worked for the Queensland Government, and most recently on a PhD project with CSIRO and The University
