I am working on modelling the abundance of two threatened but data-poor coral reef fish, the humphead wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus) and the bumphead parrotfish (Bolbometopon muricatum), in an artisanal fishery in the Solomon Islands. The aim is to assess which reef habitats each species prefers to use, and also to test whether the aggregating behaviour of the bumphead parrotfish makes it more vulnerable to fishing pressure than the humphead wrasse. I am using the generalised linear models framework for this research.
