Ferran Nadal-Bufi graduated in BSc Human Biology (2015) from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain) and obtained his MSc in Pharmaceutical Industry and Biotechnology (2016) at the same university. He worked during two years on the field of proteomics at Prof David Andreu’s laboratory at Pompeu Fabra University, where he developed his master thesis on methodologies for biomarker discovery in plasma samples. In 2017 Ferran was awarded a Research Training Scholarship to pursue a PhD degree at Prof. David Craik’s group under the supervision of Dr Sónia Henriques at the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) within the Institute for Molecular Bioscience. His PhD project is focused on the development of peptide-based drugs to target an intracellular cancer biomarker. This research involves tasks in several fields like computational and rational design of peptide-based drugs, cyclic cell penetrating peptides, high-throughput screening and cancer metabolism. In 2018, Ferran moved universities to continue his PhD project at the Queensland University of Technology, School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health, based at Translational Research Institute (TRI). There, he was granted a QUT Postgraduate Research Award Scholarship.
Dr Ferran Nadal-Bufi was awarded a pHD in February 2022 from QUT.
