Find Nicolau Barbosa Palma Filho on
Nicolau graduated in Biomolecular Physics (2017) from the University of São Paulo (São Carlos, Brazil) and obtained his master’s research degree (2022) also in Biomolecular Physics at the same university. In 2023, Nicolau was awarded a QUT Postgraduate Research Award Scholarship to pursue a PhD degree at Henriques’ group under the supervision of Dr Sónia Henriques and co-supervised by Dr Aurélie Benfield at Translation Research Institute (TRI). The goal of his project is to characterise Biophysical properties of cancer cell membranes. With this project we will identify lipids and/or membrane properties that can be used as alternative therapeutic targets and new biomarkers, to guide peptide drug discovery, and to help monitor cancer progression and drug-resistance.
