    Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr Grégoire Philippe obtained his MsD in bioprocess, biomolecules and marine biotechnology (2015) from the university of south Brittany in France. In 2016, he started a PhD at the University of Queensland (UQ) at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB). Mr Grégoire Philippe research is focused on the design of peptide-based drugs for cancer. His interests are particularly focused on the interaction of peptides with cell membranes, cell delivery systems, and reactivation of protein:protein interaction in the cytosol, particularly p53:MDM2 and p53:MDMX interactions. His research activities involve peptide chemistry (SPPS, staples, peptide conjugation), cellular biology (cell toxicity, time-lapse and atomic force microscopy) and biophysical studies (fluorescence spectroscopy, surface plasmon resonance, anisotropy studies, zeta potential measurement, flow cytometry and confocal microscopy) to characterise the mechanism of interaction of peptides with lipid bilayers (models and cells). His main goal is to efficiently deliver a dual binder of MDM2 and MDMX in the cytosol of cells without causing membrane permeabilisation.

Dr Grégoire Philippe was awarded a PhD in August 2020 from UQ.
