
David completed his BSc in geosciences at Los Andes University in Bogotá, where he also did a minor in astronomy. He then went to live in Spain where he completed two MSc degrees focused in mineral resources and environmental management of mining operations. He worked in mineral exploration in Spain, mainly searching for copper (Cu). David has now decided to unite his lifelong interest in astronomy and geology and pursue a PhD on the palaeobiology of the Hardey Formation in Western Australia. David hopes to gain new insights for exploration of biosignatures on Mars.
