Carl completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geoscience at QUT and is now undertaking a PhD. His research delves into the deepest parts of the Earth’s lithosphere and examines the unique dynamics of Archaean continents. Carl seeks to answer questions such as: how did the roots of Archaean continents form? What rocks are preserved both at great depth, and at the surface of cratons, that contain a record of their history? What techniques can we use to decipher the complex story of craton evolution? Carl hopes to answer these questions by collaborating with experts and utilising world class analytical labs across the globe.
