Our partners include NASA JPL, known for successfully developing and operating the vast majority of deep space missions ever launched from Earth, including the Mariner, Voyager and Viking probes, and the MER, Curiosity and Perseverance Mars rovers.

QUT has strong links to NASA JPL, including Dr David Flannery – a former NASA scientist and Long Term Planner for the Perseverance Rover Mission, who moved from JPL to QUT in 2019, and Dr Abigail Allwood – a QUT alumna and Principle Investigator of a biosignature detection and geochemistry instrument selected to fly on the Perseverance Rover Mission.

NASA JPL has commissioned QUT to develop software to analyse scientific data that will be captured by the Perseverance Rover during its mission to search for ancient life on Mars. Research reported in this webpage is funded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) under subcontract number 1654048.
