NASA’s Perseverance Rover Mission to Mars has successfully launched from Florida! QUT researchers will be receiving data from the mission and participating in rover operations. Dr David Flannery is a Long Term Planner for the mission and a Co-Investigator for the PIXL instrument on the rover’s arm, which is led by Dr Abigail Allwood, a QUT alumna at NASA JPL.
NASA has commissioned QUT to build a software package for analysing geochemical data generated by the rover’s instruments. TheĀ software project has recently met key milestones and entered the next phase of development.
Student projects in astrobiology, computer science and robotics are now available.
