The Microgrid facility is used for investigating the integration, and for demonstrating different scenarios and possibilities for integrating, one or many renewables into conventional power networks. All electrical parameters are monitored, displayed and logged.
The microgrid consists of solar panels, hydrogen fuel cells, diesel generator, motor/generator set to emulate a range of rotating loads, storage batteries, an electrically-scaled, reconfigurable network, 3 phase, 240 V, approximately 20 kW.
