International dissemination of Phase 2 findings

The project has gone global!

In July, CI Dooley presented preliminary findings from interview data at the Bourdieu Study Group 2nd Biennial International Conference 2018: Reproduction and Resistance in Lancaster University, England. Her presentation was titled The purchase of private supplementary education and familial education strategy.

CI Dooley went on to meet PI Doherty at the XIX ISA World Congress of Sociology in Toronto, Canada. Together they convened a symposium Foregrounding parents as players in meritocratic competition and attracted a group of high calibre research. Within the symposium, CI Dooley presented Private tutoring as educational strategy in Australia.

Both presentations were well-received and generated valuable discussions for our ongoing work with interview data.
