Children's Physical Activity Research Group

The QUT Children’s Physical Activity Research Group (CPARG) at CCHR is dedicated to expanding the body of knowledge on physical activity and its promotion in children and adolescents. An overarching aim of CPARG is to enhance the health of young people by generating the knowledge needed to design and implement effective programs to increase physical activity in children with typical development and those with chronic health conditions. Areas of research interest include:

  • Measurement of physical activity and sedentary time in children and adolescents
  • Early prevention of childhood obesity
  • Interventions to increase physical activity of children aged 0 – 5 years
  • eHealth and mHealth platforms for delivering therapeutic exercise programs
  • Influences on physical activity behaviour during childhood and adolescence
  • Relationships between physical activity and other health parameters in youth
