Queens Wharf Brisbane Connectivity
Project dates: 09/10/2017 - 30/11/2018
Activation and connectivity are key elements to the growth of recreation and tourism in Brisbane, South East Queensland and beyond. Similar to what Southbank has become over the years, the Queens Wharf Brisbane (QWB) will become a central hub and launching pad for local, domestic and international tourists exploring what Queensland has to offer. This new tourism hub will provide significant benefits to Brisbane and Queensland, but it is connectivity that will allow these benefits to be shared.
This study aims to quantify activation and connectivity resulting from the QWB project, through mapping the movements of patrons to and from the precinct. The analysis will draw on datasets from key transport infrastructure and operations organisations, tourism organisations and the telecommunications industry. This will include data collected in a wide variety of ways, including smart city data gathered from a range of sensors on the transport network, public transport smart card data and mobile data.
