This project aims to synthesis of metal halides perovskite and uses them as catalytic materials for CO2 reduction, producing valuable short chain (C1-C3) chemical fuels such as formic acid, methane and formaldehyde under illumination. Development of an effective approach for efficient conversion of solar energy to chemical fuels through reduction of CO2 gas address two of the critical global challenges confronting humankind in 21st century: (1) climate change and (2) the shortage of fuels in an energy driven society.
