The overarching aim of this project was to inform a potential road safety program to be delivered in Years 9-12 in Tasmanian schools. A comprehensive literature review of youth road safety education provided guiding principles to assist in the program design and direction.
The specific aims of this project included:
- Gain knowledge regarding youth road safety education nationally and internationally.
- Understand factors contributing to the efficacy of road safety education programs.
- Identify effective education countermeasures in preventing youth crashes (including why).
- Understand how youth road safety outcomes can be improved through education.
