This project focused on an outcome evaluation of the PCYC’s ‘Braking the Cycle’ (BTC) Learner Driver Mentor program. The number and nature of traffic offences and road crashes of BTC participants were compared with a matched control sample. These two participants groupings were used to demonstrate whether involvement in the BTC program reduced participants’ subsequent traffic histories in terms of infringements and crashes. Ongoing analyses are planned to assess whether participation in the BTC program continues to positively impact driving behaviour through reductions in traffic offences and crashes.
