About

The MAIC-QUT Road Safety Research Collaboration (MQ Collab) was established in 2025 as a partnership of the Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Situated within QUT’s Faculty of Health, School of Psychology and Counselling, the MQ Collab is led by Professor Sharon Newnam as Director, with Professor Ioni Lewis as Chair of Road Transport Psychology and Professor Narelle Haworth as Chair of Road Transport System Safety. Through cutting-edge research and collaboration, the team strives to create safer roads and reduce transport-related injuries for all.
