Road Crash Rescue (RCR) covers a number of emergency service agencies, requiring multiple departments cooperating with memorandums of understanding to satisfy individual requirements. The aim of this project is to develop and undertake a trial implementation of a data collection tool that details road crash rescue response and techniques used.
This data collection system is referred to as a Road Crash Rescue (RCR) tool. The RCR tool will be developed, in consultation with key stakeholders in the emergency services to collect data such as, but not limited to (i) response and extrication times, (ii) collision information (Vehicle types, vehicle position, number of vehicles), (iii) action taken and techniques used, (iv) equipment used.
A trial implementation of the RCR tool will be undertaken in one state of Australia, Queensland. The trial will involve a 12-month implementation of the tool and a useability evaluation.
