Michaela has been a research group leader at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Department of Biomaterials, Potsdam, Germany since 2011. In 2024, Michaela was appointed to the TU Munich, where she holds the Chair of Wood Science and Functionalisation.
