I am an Honours student, located at the University of Queensland in the School of Environmental Science, in Brisbane. My Honours was focused on the distribution and morphology of sensory system of deep-sea chondrichtyans. I am specifically looking at the lateral line and electrosensory systems as they are two important non-visual sensory modalities, that are critical for survival in low light aquatic environments. Using topographic mapping, diceCT imaging, histology, and scanning electron microscopy techniques, I am investigating the interspecific and intraspecific differences of the ultrastructure of these system in three deep-sea sharks and two chimaeras. I am currently working to publish my honours research in order to apply for a PhD in marine biology.
