My PhD project at QUT is funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Grant – DP210100859 (2020-2023) and is in response to the findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care in Australia. It is entitled ‘Suppressed voices of The Elderly People and The Natural Earth Environments: Aged Care System’s Memory Deaf-Icit Disorder”. In this project I will develop a series of participatory and interactive design and projection mapping installations to make the voices of marginalised older people in Australia’s current aged care system, and more-than-human elders, heard. Here emerges a parallel between the generation of the oldest people and the oldest landscapes, environments, and species on earth, that are unheard and forgotten. This project will remind us of the values of our ancestral roots as human beings. Solastalgia, memory, memory loss, more-than-human, contemporary society, and empathic engagement will be the main theoretical concepts developed in this dissertation
