Reza Shakibanezhad is a dedicated PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the Queensland University of Technology, with a focus on metamaterials and scaffolds inspired by polymer and biological materials. His research centres on enhancing the mechanical properties of 3D scaffolds, optimizing metamaterial behaviour, and replicating bone mechanics. Leveraging 3D printing and numerical simulations, Reza aims to advance the field’s understanding and applications.
Having completed his Master’s degree at AmirKabir University of Technology, Reza specialized in studying the mechanical properties of porous scaffolds through finite element simulations and experimental tests. His academic journey has been complemented by valuable industry experience. He has worked in companies specializing in prostheses and synthetic materials, contributing as a biocompatible and bio-implantable prosthesis designer and manufacturer. Reza’s skills encompass additive manufacturing, CT scan image analysis, implantable prostheses, and industrial drawing.
