
Preetha Ebenezer is a PhD student affiliated with the School of Mechanical, Medical & Process Engineering at QUT. Her research focuses on enhancing the antibacterial properties of biomaterial surfaces against Gram-positive bacteria using phytochemicals extracted from Australian native plants. She obtained a Master’s degree (Research) in Microbiology from Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu, India, and a Master’s degree (Coursework) in Advanced Public Health from Torrens University, Australia. Additionally, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Quality Assurance from Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu, India. She has 7.5 years of industrial experience as Chief Coordinator – Bio in a microbiology wet-lab, RND BIO, Coimbatore, India. Preetha’s career progression has been marked by continual advancement and acquiring expertise, enabling her to develop a deep understanding of microbial sciences in both theoretical and practical realms. In addition to her core role, she extended her experience by serving as a permanent part-time lecturer assistant for subjects such as Food Microbiology, General Microbiology, and Clinical Pathology, and as a practical tutor in the Department of Microbiology at PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. She also served as an ISO Health and Hygiene Auditor (ISO 22000), Department of Food and Beverage, and Quality Control Officer at RND Herbals Pvt. Ltd., a distinguished herbal cosmetic company.
