Dr Chris Edwards, renowned for his contributions to the teaching and advancement of ultrasound, delivered a captivating presentation on “Ultrasound Derived Fat Fraction” at The Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine conference which focused on ‘Ultrasound Intelligence’ held in Sydney.
Technology such as UDFF can make a significant difference in quantifying the levels of fat in the liver, which in this case, can be displayed as simply as a percentage % fat. Chris’ presentation helped to clarify the concepts behind the technology, such as backscatter and attenuation. His work enables sonographers to better understand the technology they could work with and break down the barriers between research and clinical translation.
