
Mattia Anesa is lecturer at the Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship discipline at the University of Sydney Business School. He holds a PhD from the University of Queensland with a thesis examining the legitimacy of tax minimization strategies in our society.
Mattia employs sociological theories to examine the changing of rhetoric and norms around ethical issues in organizations and, specifically, in practicing taxation. He has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Journal of Management Studies and Journal of Business Ethics, and his work has been awarded several international recognitions including the 4th Amartya Sen Prize and the 2016 Academy of Management Carolyn Dexter award. His current focus is on a global project titled ‘Understanding tax strategies in a globalized society’ which examines how tax experts are practically responding to ever changing professional norms and societal pressures.
