Asanga de Alwis completed his Bachelor’s degree in Science, specializing in Chemistry, at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka in 2018. He then went on to earn his Master of Science degree in Materials Chemistry from NTNU in Norway in August of 2021. Currently, Asanga is a doctoral student at the Queensland University of Technology, where he is part of the research group led by Australian Laureate Fellow, Prof. Dmitri Golberg. Asanga’s research project focuses on developing MXene coatings to enhance the functionality of zinc ion batteries.
