
Senka is a senior lecturer and researcher in Science and STEM and teacher education at QUT. She teaches multiple curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy units in secondary studies across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Her research focuses on four fields: preservice teachers’ self-efficacy and classroom readiness, context-based science, the emotional engagement of students in science classes and STEM education in PNG.

Australia Awards Teacher Training and Research in STEM Education in PNG
This project was designed to upskill high school teachers in STEM Education. Between 2020-23, 73 teachers (98%) completed the Graduate Certificate in STEM Education course. The project received a Wharton Gold Award (Oceania Category) and a number of research outputs are under review.
