Hai’s teaching and research expertise focuses on politics and social change, grassroots democracy, and international relations in the Indo-Pacific. He is teaching and coordinating two courses on politics and social change, and international relations at VinUniversity.

Past and current projects
Hai has managed more than 20 capacity building projects in Indo-Pacific countries under the International Projects Unit (which was dissolved in December 2023).
Currently, Hai is editing a monograph on the international relations in the Indo-Pacific, which is contracted with World Scientific.
