Past and current projects

  • Australia-Taiwan First Nations Arts Exchange (current). Building on an Australia-Taiwan First Nations Arts Exchange launched in 2021, this project aims to explore collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists and filmmakers from both places to create impactful works. In November 2024, acclaimed Brisbane-based Aboriginal artists will engage in a four-week residency this year, working with local Taiwanese Indigenous artists to create new artworks and hold public presentations and workshops. A documentary film will be produced about these artists by McIntyre and Phoebe Hart, and a collaborative touring exhibition.
  • Goroka Taim (2016). The creative work is a response to “change making” digital stories made by visiting DFAT Australia Award fellows from the University of Goroka in Papua New Guinea who came to Queensland University of Technology in June 2015. The film charts the adventure of Dr Hart and Ms Newsome as they travel to Goroka for the first time in September of 2016 on a QUT ECARD Travel Fellowship to reconnect with the PNG filmmakers and continue to develop the media production capacity in the region. https://eprints.qut.edu.au/99714/
