Indo-Pacific Research Group member Dr Hai Hong Nguyen will be commencing a Fulbright Fellowship from October 2024 to June 2025. He will be based in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University in Washington D.C. Hai will be working on a project on Vietnam – U.S. relations in a broader context of the growing rivalry between major powers in the Indo-Pacific region.
Hai is currently a Senior Lecturer in the College of Arts and Sciences at VinUniversity in Hanoi, Vietnam. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Justice, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Sunshine Coast.
Hai’s teaching and research experience focuses on politics and social change, grassroots democracy, and international relations in the Indo-Pacific. He is currently editing two monographs on the international relations in the Indo-Pacific, which are to be published by Springer and World Scientific.
