Indoor air pollution associated with certain cooking practices results in over three million premature deaths each year. This problem affects everyone, particularly people in low and middle-income households. At the University of Surrey, the Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE) team led by Professor Prashant Kumar, alongside 32 collaborators across 18 countries, have now developed a thorough guide which translates scientific research into easy-to-implement practical measures, aimed at the key frontline users and decision-makers. The guide includes helpful and actionable tips for individuals, as well as advice that would require actions from housing providers and governing bodies.
