Helen Ford is a PhD student within the QUT Improving Health Outcomes for People research group. Helen graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Science (Physiology) in 1999, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration in 2004. She then completed her Master of Health Science (Health, Safety and Environment) in 2007. Part of her Master’s degree examined the UV exposure levels of indoor and outdoor workers in summer versus winter in far north Queensland. Helen has worked in health and safety in both management and consulting roles predominantly in the mining and health industries since 2003. She has a passion for health and safety systems management and auditing and overall risk minimisation.
Helen has commenced her PhD looking at sunscreen use in young children.
