To find out how best to care for people after they have completed primary treatment for early stage breast cancer, we are comparing IBIS-Survivorship model of follow-up care with the usual follow-up care offered by the study site.
If you decide to participate in the study, your health care team and the study team will let you know which model of care is being offered to you.
Usual Care
If you receive the Usual Care model you will be cared for by your surgeon, oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as usual. There will be no change to your care except, we will provide you with an additional information booklet on “Living Well After Cancer” published by Cancer Council Australia.
IBIS-Survivorship
If you receive the IBIS-Survivorship model you will be cared for by your health care team including oncologists, surgeons, specialist cancer nurses, and your GP. You will be invited to attend a survivorship clinic appointment with your specialist cancer nurse after your treatment is completed which may be face-to-face or by video/teleconferencing. A survivorship care plan will be developed and your follow-up appointment schedule will be shared with your GP so that they can be involved in your ongoing cancer care.
