Bachelor of Business & Bachelor of Fine Art (Fashion) – QUT
Isabel Byram is an HDR student at QUT in the School of Design. Her research utilises fashion and business knowledge to imagine multidisciplinary ideas about how design can be expressed. Isabel applies fashion-focused design thinking to understand and develop cultural practices around garments. Her work lives in the community through partnerships with industry – a key example of this are her uniform designs for Fortitude Valley State Secondary College (also see the QUT News story here). She has also worked with healthcare partners in Queensland though 2019 and 2020 to reimagine what hospital products are and how PPE is made. Isabel is keen to continue to explore how fashion and healthcare can intertwine; building a career that creates value and sustainable practices in the wearable products that are used in healthcare.
