Erina Wannenburg is an Industrial Design graduate and Research Assistant in Design for Health, QUT Design Lab. Having grown up in South Africa, she has always had a strong inclination to work with people and to contribute the skills and experience she gained to find solutions to complex problems. Her first class honours degree generated design solutions to improve functionality and minimise anxiety in paediatric care within hospital emergency environments.
Continuing with her research (2019 – 2021), she has gained ample experience working with healthcare partners – in Queensland Health & Victoria – conducting observations and interviewing various clinicians and specialists within the field of paediatrics.
Erina is passionate about trying to create positive change through sustainable, human-centred design & creating interactive learning environments that promote healing and growth. She strongly believes that cross-disciplinary collaboration leads to greater opportunities for innovative design solutions and that inspiration can be found in everything you focus your attention to.
