Erin Mirah

Erin has been been a Primary school teacher with Education Queensland for over 8 years. Erin’s teaching experiences have been centred in linguistically and culturally diverse classrooms which have enabled her to develop a strong teaching philosophy that understands the power of embracing and connecting with the culture of students to empower their participation and learning within the classroom. This philosophy has enabled Erin to continually develop and adapt inclusive teaching strategies for an equitable learning environment.

    Erin’s Reflection on the Project:

The opportunity to participate as a teacher-as researcher in the QUT led Ed Horizon project– Empowering global learners enabled me to reflect on my inclusive practice through a different lens and analyse how the students within my classroom were interacting and learning together as diverse and global learners. Participating in the project with other passionate and experienced educators provided new perspectives and knowledge to enhance my inclusive practice.
