Project Description
A series of laboratory tests on remoulded and undisturbed samples is carried out to investigate the static and dynamic behaviour of mine tailings against the natural phenomena called liquefaction to achieve enhanced safety levels in designing and operation of tailing dams. Further, it is also expected to propose a reliable methodology to assess the liquefaction potential of mine tailings by in-situ test data such as Cone Penetration Test (CPT) results thus minimising the cumbersome and time-consuming laboratory investigations.
