At the QUT Generative AI Lab, we draw on our multidisciplinary expertise with a range of research capabilities across three themes: Situating GenAI in the Platform Economy, Aligning GenAI with Local Values, and Advancing Public GenAI Capabilities. These themes are designed to address the diverse challenges and opportunities presented by Generative AI.
- Mapping the GenAI Landscape: We actively research and document the evolving landscape of generative technologies to advance public awareness about innovations, developments, and emerging issues and opportunities.
- Professional Development: We design and deliver professional development programs based on our research findings, equipping individuals and organizations with critical, technical, ethical, and practical skills for navigating generative technologies.
- Public Education Workshops: Our public education workshops demystify Generative AI for diverse audiences. These workshops aim to enhance public understanding that can foster informed discussions about the societal and cultural implications of AI technologies.
- Policy Development: We provide research-based input and advice into government and organisational GenAI policies and evaluation frameworks.
- Sociotechnical Research Support: We investigate the adoption pathways of Generative AI technologies, helping organisations understand both technical capabilities and their broader cultural and social implications through our research findings.Technical and Evaluative Support: We provide advice on the adoption of Generative AI technologies to assist organisations in navigating the technical, cultural and social implications of GenAI.
