The lab welcomes two new PhD students, Bianca Kay and Muhammad Farooq.
Bianca completed her Masters of Science (Majoring in Entomology) in 2019 at the University of the Free State, South Africa. Bianca is funded by an ARC DP project and her research at QUT will investigate host location and acceptance cues of Fopius arisanus, a parasitoid of tephritid fruit flies.
Muhammad completed his Masters of Science (Majoring in Agricultural Entomology) in 2011 from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. After graduating, he worked as a Research Officer investigating the management of crop pests through biological controls. At QUT, Muhammad’s research will explore the physiological impacts of male lures on fruit flies.
